Why You Should Go on a Yoga Retreat — And Why Sima Kade Might Be Exactly What You Need

When was the last time you truly stopped?
Not just switched off your phone for an hour.
Not just had an early night.
Not just squeezed a yoga class into an already busy week.
I mean really stopped.
That is one of the reasons I love yoga retreats so much.
A yoga retreat gives you something that everyday life often doesn’t:
Time and Space to come back to yourself.

Why go on a yoga retreat?
You don’t need to be an experienced yogi.
You don’t need to be flexible.
And you definitely don’t need to be able to stand on your head.
A retreat is simply an opportunity to step away from your normal routine for a few days and experience life at a different pace.
You wake without rushing.
You move your body.
You breathe more deeply.
You eat nourishing food.
You spend time outside.
You rest.
And, perhaps most importantly, you begin to notice how you actually feel when all the usual noise becomes a little quieter.
Pause — A Yoga Retreat in Nature

This November, I am hosting Pause — A Yoga Retreat in Nature at beautiful Sima Kade Bushcamp in Magaliesburg.
From 20–22 November 2026, we will step away from Johannesburg for a weekend surrounded by the bush, trees, open skies and the sounds of nature.
Sima Kade isn’t about luxury in the traditional sense.
The luxury is something much harder to find these days:
Space. Silence. Nature. Time.
You’ll stay in either a beautiful Tree House or Bush Cabin, waking up surrounded by the natural landscape rather than traffic, screens and schedules.
For me, this retreat is about exactly what its name says.
